38 Special - Caught Up In You

38 스페셜(38 Special)은 레너드 스키너드(Lynyrd Skynyrd)의 리드 보컬이었던  故 로니 반 잔트(Ronnie Van Zant)의 동생 도니 반 잔트(Donnie Van Zant)가 1975년 플로리다에서 결성한 서던 록 트렌드의 마지막 팝 히트 밴드였다. (그룹 이름은 특정 권총의 이름에서 유래했다.) 이들은 선배그룹들보다는 좀 더 캐치하고 경쾌한 멜로디와 아레나 록(Arena Rock), AOR밴드들의 방법론을 흡수한 사운드 메이킹으로 80년대 중반까지 꾸준히 히트곡을 남겼는데, 82년도에 발표된 이 싱글 [Caught Up In You]는 20여년이 지난 지금 들어도 그 경쾌함에 고속도로로 드라이브를 하러 나가고 싶은 충동을 느끼게 만드는 스트레이트 로큰롤의 진수라고 생각한다.
