 3월 초는 항상 직장에서 바쁜 시기이지만, 올해는 유독 바빠서 그랬는지, 며칠이 흐른 뒤에서야 우연히 [IZM] 사이트에 올라온 뉴스로 브래드 델프(Brad Delp)의 사망 소식을 접했다. 기타리스트 톰 슐츠(Tom Shulz)와 함께 그룹 보스턴(Boston)을 결성하여 75년부터 지금까지 활동했던 그는 지난 3월 9일, 그는 자택에서 싸늘한 시신으로 발견되었다. 향년 55세.
  보스턴이란 밴드의 음악의 매력은 물론 톰 슐츠의 계산된 듯 날카롭고 수려한 기타 연주와 그의 음악적 장인정신에 있지만, 그것이 브래드의 (도저히 인상과는 매치가 안되는...고인에겐 죄송합니다만... --;) 풍부하고 감성적인 보컬과 그와 톰이 작업한 대중도 쉽게 받아들일 수 있는 분명한 멜로디라인이 없었다면 과연 완성품이 될 수 있었을까?
  현재 사인은 자살로 추정되고 있는데, 최근 그는 우울증에 시달리면서 삶의 의욕을 상실했다는 말을 남겼다 한다. 그가 천국에서는 부디 평화를 찾기를 바라며, 이번주를 개인적으로 '브래드 델프 추모 주간'으로 선포하고자 한다. 그리고 이를 위해 그가 부른 대표적인 노래들의 뮤직비디오와 음악들을 연속으로 블로그에 등재하고자 한다. 그 첫 번째로 75년 보스턴의 데뷔작에 수록된 이들의 출세작 [More Than A Feeling]을 감상할텐데, 공식 프로모션 비디오에 깨끗한 음원으로 다시 싱크 했으니 즐감바란다.
