RTZ - Until Your Love Comes Back Around (Brad Delp Tribute Week Part.5)

 브래드는 비록 [Walk On] 앨범에서는 한 곡의 노래도 부르지 않았지만, 톰의 제의를 수락하면서 보스턴으로 돌아갔다. (하지만 이 시기 이후부터는 보스턴에는 정식 보컬이 존재한다기 보다는 모두가 객원보컬로 참여했다고 보는게 맞을 듯하다. 물론 밴드에 대한 프로필에는 죽기 직전까지 정식 보컬로 기재되어 있었지만...) 그리고 다시 (2000년에 발표된 [Greatest Hits]를 제외하면) 다시 8년만에 5집 [Coperative America]가 나왔을 때도 그는 변함없이 톰의 곁에 있었다. 그렇게 그들의 우정은 30년간 지속되어갔고, 비록 간헐적이지만 밴드는 투어를 가끔씩 열었었기에 그가 이렇게 자신의 목숨을 끊으리라고는 주변에서 아무도 예감하지 못했다고 한다.
  하지만, 브래드는 자신의 욕실에서 석탄 그릴에 불을 붙여 그 일산화탄소 연기로 질식해 스스로 목숨을 끊었다고 사인을 분석한 경찰측은 밝히고 있다. 삶의 의욕을 잃었었다는 그의 짧은 글과 약혼자의 증언만이 그의 자살 이유에 대한 희미한 근거로 남아있을 뿐이다. 어쨌건, 그가 저 세상에서는 평안과 안식을 찾길 바라면서, 이 추모 시리즈의 끝곡으로 RTZ 시절의 멋진 록 발라드 [Until Your Love Comes Back Around]를 준비한다.  R.I.P. Brad!

As you all know by now, BOSTON'S lead singer, Brad Delp, was found dead in his home on Friday, March 9th 2007. Plans for live BOSTON performances this summer have, of course, been cancelled.

My heart goes out to his wonderful fiance Pamela, his two children and other family members, his close friends and band mates, and to the millions of people whose lives were made a little brighter by the sound of his voice. He will be dearly missed.
