Robbie Williams & Gary Barlow - Shame

재결합한 테이크 탯(Take That)에 올 연말 로비 윌리엄스(Robbie Williams)까지 합류해 공연한다는 소식이 전해지면서 세계의 테이크 댓 팬들은 그야말로 축제 분위기다. (하지만 개인적으로는 그 시절 테이크 댓의 음악에 지금의 로비가 어울릴까..에 대해서는 약간 상상이 안간다. 지금의 테이크 댓의 음악이라면 물론 상황은 다르다.) 하지만 그 이전에 로비가 먼저 치뤄야 할 코스가 있으니, 바로 그의 2CD 베스트 앨범 [In And Out Of Consciousness: Greatest Hits 1990–2010]을 발표하는 일이다. 이 앨범 속에 들어있는 신곡이 바로 여기 소개하는 로비와 그의 테이크 댓 시절의 동료이자 밴드의 리더 개리 발로우(Gary Barlow)와의 듀엣 <Shame>이다. 흥미로운 것은 이 곡의 인트로 부분의 기타 연주에서 자꾸만 비틀즈의 <Blackbird>가 연상된다는 점이다. (물론 표절이라 할 정도로 멜로디가 동일하진 않다. 기타 주법이 동일하다고 하는게 맞을 듯.) 마치 <Back For Good>시절의 테이크 댓의 음악을 듣는 것과 같은 편안함으로 다가오는 곡이다. 가사를 잘 음미해보다 보면 이들이 왜 15년의 시간을 건너 화해에 이르렀는지도 파악이 가능할 듯하다.

P.S. 기왕에 이번에 월드 투어하면 한국에도 좀 와주면 안될라나??
