사실 이 곡이 오랜만에 생각난 것은 순전히 에릭 클랩튼(Eric Clapton) 때문이었다. 핫트랙스에 그의 새 앨범에 대한 원고를 쓰다가 발견한 프로듀서이자 그와 프로젝트 TDF를 통해서 처음 조우한 후 2000년대 그의 정규 앨범들을 담당했던 뮤지션 사이먼 클라이미(Simon Climie)를 언급한 자료를 발견했기 때문이었다. 그러고보니 그는 이렇게 프로듀서로 다시 만나기 전에 이미 1980년대 후반 듀오 클라이미 앤 피셔(Climie & Fisher)를 결성해 활동했던 경력이 있지 않은가? 그 기억이 오랜만에 떠 올라 이 곡을 찾아 포스팅해본다. 항상 1980년대 신스 팝 그룹들을 떠올리면서 특이한 점은 모두 1960년대 흑인 음악이나 모타운 사운드에 대한 애정을 어느 정도는 공유하고 있다는 점이다. 네이키드 아이즈(Naked Eyes)의 멤버였던 롭 피셔(Rob Fisher)와 이 듀오를 결성했던 것도 바로 그런 애정의 발로 중 하나였으리라. 오랜만에 상큼한 80년대식 어덜트 컨템포러리 신스 팝을 감상해 보시길.
