[Teen Pop의 추억] (3) Tommy Page - A Shoulder To Cry On

88년말이었던가...여느때와 같이 새벽들이 기다려 AFKN Videolink녹화를 뜨려 토요일 한 밤을 뜬눈으로 지새우다 처음 보게 된 <A Shoulder To Cry On>의 비디오... 당시 30위권에서 상승이 멈춰버렸지만, 곡이 워낙 잘 감기는 타입이라 국내에서도 잘 알려지면 뜨겠다 싶었던 가수, 아니나 다를까 국내에 워너뮤직 코리아가 생기면서 데비 깁슨, 티파니와 함께 '들이댄'  틴 아이돌이 바로 토미 페이지(Tommy Page)였다. 그도 작곡이 가능한 타입의 틴 뮤지션이었기에 주목을 받긴 했지만... 그 다음해 발표한 [I'll Be Your Everything]이 정상에 오른 이후에는 본격적으로 아시아 시장만 집중공략한 이 가수는 몇 년간은 이 지역에서 버텼으나, 결국 90년대의 흐름 속에 사라져가고 말았다. 하지만, 아직 스타덤에 오르기 전, 순수한 마음으로 만들고 불렀던 이 곡의 아름다움은 세월이 지나도 국내 팝 팬들의 마음 속에 남아있을 것 같다.
